Wayne Lee

Managing Director, Head of International Banking and Enterprise TransformationCIBC

Mr Lee is a member of CIBC’s Group Executive Leadership Team and leads the bank’s International Banking and Enterprise Transformation mandates. He is responsible for CIBC’s international business and operations, spanning offices in London, Hong Kong, Luxembourg, Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai and Hyderabad. He also oversees CIBC Caribbean, a relationship bank operating across 10 Caribbean markets.

As part of his Enterprise Transformation mandate, Mr Lee leads large-scale organizational transformation, change management and enterprise agility across CIBC. His focus is on delivering measurable outcomes, including revenue growth, increased agility, cost savings and sustainable competitive advantage.

Mr Lee joined CIBC in 2001 and has since held increasingly senior roles with international and enterprise-wide responsibilities. His previous positions include Head of Europe and Asia Pacific and Chief Financial Officer of Capital Markets.

Mr Lee is active in the international business community. He is Chair of the Canada-UK Chamber of Commerce, a Council Member of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a member of the City of London’s International Markets Steering Board, and a member of the Governors’ Council of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.

Mr Lee is committed to education and inclusion in the finance industry. He serves as a Director on the Global Board of 100 Women in Finance and as a member of the Advisory Board of The Inclusion Initiative at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He previously served on McGill University’s Regional Advisory Board.

Mr Lee holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University and is both a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst. He has lived and worked in Toronto, New York and Hong Kong, and is now based in London.
