The FX Files – Headline Fatigue

It will be a very quiet macro session in North America with little on the data calendar and the Fed in blackout. Oil is up with WTI now trading at $88.13 (+4.48%) over concerns that the Houthi rebels will blockade the Bab el-Mandeb Strait – the southern gateway to Red Sea, making it difficult for Saudi Arabia to access waterways on the country’s west coast. Yesterday Trump stated that he will respond if this waterway was disrupted, but didn’t provide details.
