Amy South

Executive Vice-President, Chief Administration Officer CIBC Capital Markets

Amy South is Executive Vice-President and Chief Administration Officer of Capital Markets. She is responsible for a broad range of operational support activities globally that help support our business.

Prior to her current role, Ms. South was Chief Financial Officer of CIBC’s Functional Groups (Administration Division, Client Connectivity and Innovation, Finance, Human Resources, Internal Audit, Risk Management, and Technology & Operations), where she was responsible for all financial management, analysis, advice and planning across these areas. As Head of Investor Relations, she was responsible for the strategic planning, direction, and execution of investor relations, and engaging with investors and analysts to articulate CIBC’s strategy. Previously, Ms. South was responsible for financial management, business advice, and planning for CIBC Capital Markets and Treasury Finance.

Prior to joining CIBC in 2014, Ms. South was with another financial institution where she was Chief Financial Officer for Investor and Treasury Services. She was Chief Financial Officer for ING Real Estate Canada prior to the sale of that entity in 2010. Prior to that, she spent 17 years with Morgan Stanley in London, New York, and Toronto, holding increasingly senior positions in both Finance and Sales, and Trading divisions before leaving as Executive Director, Global Distribution, Sales and Trading in 2008.

Ms. South holds a CA from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Bachelor of Arts with a specialist in Business Administration from the University of Toronto.
